ADNSW celebrated R U OK? Day in September with an all-staff event.
We were privileged to hear from Susan Laguna, CEO of Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association and from Narelle Holden, an Aboriginal Liaison Officer at Westmead Hospital. Susan and Narelle shared their stories and experiences of spending each and every day caring for their communities and how they ask ‘R U OK?’.
After their talks, Susan and Narelle joined staff for a fun game of conversation bingo, designed to help the group practise their conversation skills by encouraging them to ask open-ended questions.
This year's theme, 'no qualifications needed', taught us that you don’t need to be an expert to have a conversation. Listening and giving someone your time might be just what they need to help them through.
A big thanks to our colleagues Morlai and Narelle for organising this great event!
