Kate applied for a job as a driver with a minibus company. She was refused an interview by the hiring manager as they 'didn't think she'd fit in' because she was female.
Kate lodged a complaint with ADNSW. During conciliation, ADNSW clarified the Anti-Discrimination Act to the company.
The company offered Kate an apology and disciplined the hiring manager. The company also stated that they were prepared to consider Kate immediately for a job as a driver.
