Dismissed after race discrimination complaint

Ahmad* complained to his boss about race discrimination and was dismissed the next day.

Ahmad lodged complaints of race discrimination and victimisation.   

At conciliation, the employer agreed that they had not taken Ahmad’s racial discrimination complaint seriously and had done the wrong thing by dismissing him.

Ahmad was reinstated and received $4,000 in compensation.
